Insomnia

I can't sleep. I decided to crash in VA because I got banged up playing basketball and driving back to EC was not an option. It's 05:10 and now my friend's alarm clock is going haywire. I've probably shut my eyes for two hours at best so excuse the cranky tone of this. So naturally I'm on the internet finding myself on websites I rarely visit. I read a couple of my older posts and I seemed like a happier person a year ago. That's a pretty sh*tty feeling when you realize you're not improving in life. Not one time in my adolescence did I think: "I really hope to be a government contractor one day!" The ceiling is high for you, BK!! This isn't a woe is me post, it's just that certain things (good and bad) come in spurts and one has to realize when to take full advantage of them or learn to lay low, respectively.

I do miss the following things that probably won't happen in high frequency in the future: marginal responsibilities at work, the ability to binge eat/drink and not be ill-affected by it the morning after, friends being together doing the most trivial things, and most importantly, traveling bi-weekly to different airports on the client's dime. How I appreciate the aforementioned activities...

At any rate, this did turn into a woe is me post but I don't care because Xanga is dead and I'll be awake in an hour.

Top of the morning to you, b*tches.

Happy Birthday, Dr.

Celebrated MLK day like it was my own bday.

In order of occurrence:
Half day of work.  Status meetings, small talk, and bagels.  You know the drill.

Wizards game with Ki/Arum/Canadian cousins.  It was no contest, we put a spanking on them.  I would hate to be a sports fan in Dallas right now.  I heard on the the radio that Romo may record a duet with Jessica Simpson.

Pre-game at Randy and Priscilla's place with Steve and Eugene.  We finished a bottle of Stoli and played poker before going back to the Verizon center.  Stupid rule of thumb: Sober people are much better poker players than their drunken adversaries.

G'town vs Orange.  It was a nail biter but the Hoyas were victorious!  We were surrounded by a sea of drunken college fans wearing orange t-shirts that read: "Real (wo)men wear orange."  I thought it was uber gay.  Steve and I played the 3-point drinking game.  Terrible idea.

Drove over to Lucky Bar to meet Rich 'n James.  It was salsa night.  I'm serious.

Capped the night at Panache.

As one can see, memories get harder to sustain as the night progresses.  I ordered a bottle of detox this morning.  I hope it gets here soon than later.

I can't believe this was taken in 2006.  Bleh.

Around that time...

I realized how hot I sound when I speak about fantasy football.  Ladies love it.

Happy birthday Chul Woo (Charlies) and Cathy.  We'll paint Adams Morgan red then pig out on some jumbo slices this Saturday.  Join us.

This is what happened last year.

Current Events

OJ Simpson is arrested, again.

Does anyone give two sh*ts about this guy?  I wasn't born when he was tearing up the NFL so I don't appreciate his athletic abilities.  My only memory is of him doing those really cheesy Hertz commercials when I was a young lad and the criminal trial we were all witnesses of.  I wouldn't give an ounce of thought if he was perished from this earth so we can save the media attention for more important matters like the war in Iraq, the presidential race, and Lindsey Lohan.

Custom Cleaners close up shop.

So we all know the story about the asshole judge who sued the poor Korean family  for $64 million over a pair of pants.  I want to beat this guys ass.  It made me think of all of those poor souls who are in court for outrageous claims against them.  People always want something for nothing but personally, the cliche: "you don't get something for nothing" comes to mind.  The legal system becomes a joke when people have the ability to hijack it.

The Skins are 2-0.

Hell yeah.

Korea

  1. I really want to go to the motherland before I lose the opportunity to.  Not to do anything particular.  Just to enjoy the cheap food, company of family, and insanely cheap soju would be reason enough.
  2. I pulled a 757 with 19 other people for the Korean American Sports Association for a plane pulling charity event to raise money for the special olympics.  I don't know how I got pulled into the event but it was an interesting experience (non pun int.).  We were the only team to be flagged for a "false start."  Since it was a charity event, many of the spectators were probably think thinking: "Damn overachieving Asians."  That's right, b*tches.
  3. Golf update: I suck and the favorites as of 9/10 is team #1.
